Of baluster form with a domed cover, finely hand-painted in vibrant Famille Rose enamels depicting an elaborate figural court scene with attendants, children, and auspicious motifs. The reverse decorated with symbolic objects, flowers, and precious emblems, all against a turquoise ground richly adorned with scrolling lotus and auspicious designs. The cover surmounted by a gilt-accented knop finial, similarly decorated with floral cartouches and figural reserves.

The palette, known as Famille Rose (fencai 粉彩), flourished during the Qing Dynasty and remained highly esteemed for its delicate hues and painterly detail. This example, produced in Macau during the mid-20th century, reflects the enduring appeal of export porcelain and its adaptation to Western decorative tastes, while retaining classical Chinese symbolism of prosperity, harmony, and longevity.

    • The figural court scene represents prosperity and familial harmony.

    • Children at play are a traditional symbol of abundance and the continuation of lineage.

    • The peony and lotus flowers signify wealth, purity, and renewal.

    • The turquoise enamel ground and elaborate borders evoke the decorative richness of 18th–19th century Cantonese porcelain.
